Easter

With Easter coming the boys wanted to decorate eggs. They had lots of fun doing wax designs and food colouring and added stickers and markers.

Decorating Eggs

This is Fun!

On Easter Sunday we went to church in the morning and then after church we had a nice brunch.

Easter Brunch

After this was done we went out to our 'always being worked on' yard and kind of 'wandered around'. Hubby and I knew there were eggs out there, and we knew the big guys would figure it out really quickly, but we wanted to see how the little ones handled it. We weren't disappointed!

The funniest thing happened. This little guy quickly spied a shiny foiled egg on the ground. We saw him scoop it up and then quietly walk off behind the log house to scoff it without anyone seeing him. A few moments later he immerged from the other side all elated because he had found *eggs* and *lots of them* all over the ground! Here he is with his beginning stash.

Finding Loot

Here's One!

Look What I Found!

Aren't We Lucky!

I went looking for the littlest one and found him sitting at the bottom of the hill eating his loot! He was having a feast just opening one by one - the only problem being most of them didn't get very unwrapped before he ate them!

YUMMY!

Felling Trees

When we decided to get to work on our front yard we realized we had a number of trees that needed to come down. We had made plans to put in a sports court for the boys and there were trees in the way. So Ray got to work felling them. It was kind of scary, cause we had these talls trees and he had to fell them without hitting the house or vehicles. But I shouldn't have worried, cause the 'master' was at work! LOL!

Winching the Tree to the ATV

The chain saw got stuck in the crack of the tree. Ray had to get in real close to hammer it out of the way before the tree could fall.

There She Goes!

Down!

This was the first of about eight trees they took down that day.

Learning to Ride a Bike

This little guy wanted to learn to ride his bike, so out we went. He had been coasting around with his brothers for a while and it was not too hard to teach him. He is still a little wobbly but he is getting quite good.

Way To GO!

Soon we will be going for bike rides around the neighbourhood, since the littlest guy has a seat behind me on my bike.

Boys and War Games! and More...

Mud Racing

What could be more fun that being dragged through the mud on your face??

Hang On There!
Perhaps it is being tied up with rope and being hoisted up in the air??

Log House or is it a Fort?

The spring has arrived, sort of, and so now we have so many projects that have to be started and completed! The first thing is clearing the front of the property. There are logs piles everywhere. Our oldest hooked up the ATV and had the job of hauling the logs to this monster pile by our garage.

ATV Man

I told the boys that with all the trees that we have on our property there was no reason that we couldn't build a log house or a fort for them! As we cleared the logs from the piles we picked out the better ones to build with.

Now I wonder if I should build some balance beams? Stay tuned for further updates on the Log House (or Fort).

Boys and MUD!

Squishy, Squishy, Nothing So Lovely as Mud Between the Toes!

What can I say?? Boys LOVE mud!! We finished building our house last winter and moved in on December 18. In the meantime the ground has been covered in snow. But now the thaw has happened and over the last two months we have had a lot of mud!

Who Says There Isn't Enough Snow to Sled?

It has been nasty trying to control the situation. So, since I know boys love mud and it is a crime to keep them out of it! (in my humble opinion *smile*) I kept out the winter clothes and though there was no snow, they still wore snow suits and boots. This kept the clothes washing to a minimum and I could hang the mud encrusted pants and boots out the back door until the next delightful play time!

4" Deep in Mud - But I *Can* Still Ride

These boys are desperate to ride bikes and put away the sleds for the year. They rode through mud inches deep!

Giving Littlest One a Ride

Hubby bought this bike wagon for me many years ago, so I could take the oldest two for bike rides. It didn't happen. We didn't live in an area where it worked etc. But it has certainly been worth its cost! The boys have used it for everything!! One day I saw it go dashing past the basement window... with a dog or was it a goat attached to it! That animal was freaked right out of its mind! It has hauled firewood, bicycles, kids, anything the kids have in mind, plus it has been a wagon for 'horses' and a prison truck - you name it! When the oldest two decided it was time to take it to the dump I was quick to jump in and remind *them* of all the times I had wanted to take it and toss it and they had said *NO* - we can do this and that with it! So, no - it is not in the dump. The next set of two or three or four are using it for their imaginative play!

My Feet Are Stuck!

Ahoy There!

Our little guys have taken over this tree trunk. It is a pirate ship or a haunted house. The only problem is whenever they play on this end of the tree the dog next door doesn't like it and lunges at the fence.

Lunch Break - A Winter Picnic

No! You Can not Come In!

Swings

I looked across the yard and saw this little one being hauled up the slide in a sled! I went over to enquire what they were doing and to see if I could save him. He was not in the least distressed - just kind of hanging over the back of the sled. He is a willing pawn in all their play. They informed me they wanted to take him down the slide and to do this they had to get him *up* the slide first. And there was no way to do this, since the play equipment hasn't yet been put back together!
