Lighthouses and Pizza

After we left the Yaquina Head Lighthouse we headed south on Hwy 101. We were heading to Florence, Oregon. As we headed into Florence we passed the Heceta Head Lighthouse.

Heceta Head Lighthouse

It is truly a beautiful lighthouse! If we were rich we might have stayed there, but you had to have reservations months in advance! Tomorrow I will be going back in that direction to take the boys to the Sea Lion Caves and we will go and visit the lighthouse and get more pictures! The boys truly enjoyed seeing the lighthouse, even though they had to climb up so high when they were not feeling so great. Dane said the fresh air and the climb made him feel better. *smile*

More Fascinating Bridges

After our experience of the night before, in our icky little hotel room, we were a little wary of what we might find in the hotel that I had booked. This one was booked ahead, because of it's name. I hoped it might be a memorable type of place, instead of your typical hotel. I was pleasantly surprised when I found it.

The rooms are very quaint. A new family has taken over ownership and you can see that they have lovingly updated the rooms. The furniture is old, but there are touches that make each room feel homey. There are knickknacks in the rooms and books on the shelves.

This room has a new fridge and microwave, tv and vcr. The funny thing is the bathroom is in the centre of the two rooms, with a door on each side of the toilet. There was an unfortunate child that happened to be using it and he didn't really like the fact that the two rooms were linked by the bathroom!! There was constantly one door or the other opening when we first moved in, as we were settling. You get the picture *grin*.

Cooper Having a Rest Before Pizza and Movie

Once we checked into our rooms - which were called a Family Suite - the boys were quickly showered and put into jammies and tucked into bed. This Inn has free movies so the boys rented a movie and we ordered pizza. Then it was off to sleep for a good rest, before our big day of Sea Lion Caves and Lighthouses and then an eight hour drive!

Relaxing After Another Busy Day
