A Midsummer Night's Dream

Cassidy, as a Donkey, With Titania and Oberon

For the third year in a row our Homeschool Group put on another excellent production. This year it was a new rendition of A Midsummer Nights Dream. This version was written about a play within a play.

The first year they wrote an original script of The Emperor's New Clothes and Cassidy was cast as the Emperor. Last year the children again wrote lines to a play - Robin Hood. It was wonderful and very entertaining. Their plays are always very humourous!

This year our director had her house up for sale and was supposed to be moving to another province. Her children begged to put on a play and so a decision was made. Instead of the usual 3 months of once a week rehearsals, we had exactly seven practices to pull off another outstanding performance. The children did not let us down!! As usual we were wonderfully entertained and after the performance the children were asked to put on at least one more performance in another neighbourhood. So the show will go on!

Cassidy was cast as Nick Bottom;

Cassidy, in His Very Dramatic Death Scene.

"Oh my Thisbe. You can't be dead! What! Stained with blood? Oh, my heart cries in pain, Oh dainty duck. Come back again! I can't go on without you, dear! My life is over! I'll end it here! I'm dying, I'm dying! I must cry aloud! My pulse is ebbing! There's pain in my head! Now collapsed on the ground, I moan, "I'm dead!"

And Also, A Lion;

Austin chose to be one of the Fairies, along with Cooper and Briton.

This year Austin decided he didn't want any lines and he wanted to be with his little brother, Briton. He was one of the four boy fairies.
