Sausalito - Day 4

Sausalito

We had a wonderful tour guide company. It made nine stops and we got off at each one. We were on the tour for 6 hours and it was jam packed!! The first stop was Sausalito Island. The whole ferry ride to the island our tour guide was filling us in on all kinds of fascinating information on San Francisco.
Once we got to the island we had an hour to each lunch and so some shopping. Since I had a handful of kids I was looking for an economical place to eat lunch. I was told there was pizza by the slice place. Well, it was closed, but while we were looking we found a fun tshirt shop and a candy store. I took the kids in the candy store and the owner told us it was $3.49 a 1/2 pound for candy and to feel free and sample the candy. I laughed and wondered how that would work. He said, "You eat candy." I said it was a good thing I had kids who knew how to do things moderately. It could be dangerous letting people sample in his store. It was fun.

I told the kids they could each walk and around and pick one thing to sample. What a weird feeling - picking things off shelves and eating without paying!! *laugh* Then the boys were each given a basket and told to buy their own candy from their spending money.

You can see the boy on the boys' faces!

I Can Sample??

After we got the candy we headed out to find somewhere to eat, before we had to meet the tour. We found this tiny (about 6' across x 20' deep) restaurant! That size includes the cooking area! We had a quick bite and then met our crowd near the fountain.
